Skincare Routine

We tend to workout, get physicals and eat clean to keep our bodies in shape. But some people never really think about their skin. According to Skin Cancer Foundation, at least one in five Americans will develop skin cancer by the age of 70. That’s a lot of people!

Which means… we don't tend to pay enough attention to our skin as we should. When our skin is unprotected, it also leaves our skin to age faster than we want it to, but this doesn't just mean putting on sunscreen

There are many factors that can add to aging skin such as everyday activities like the sun, pollution, the makeup we use and what we eat and drink.

As a society we tend to buy what we see on a commercial or what the latest trends are on social media.  But what we don’t pay attention to is what ingredients are actually in our products.

Stores like  Beauty Counter, have a never list of ingredients that should NEVER be in your skincare products. “The Never List™ is made up of more than 1,800 questionable or harmful chemicals that we never use as ingredients in our products. This includes the over 1,400 chemicals banned or restricted in personal care products by the European Union, plus additional chemicals screened by Beautycounter and found to be of concern.”

Clean skincare lines that I have personally used and love:

Each of the brands listed above do not only have AMAZING products, they are also toxin free. Making changes and learning new things can help you elevate your skincare.

There are many ways I have learned to protect my skin and it isn't my new night time regime.

One of those ways is to make sure you go to the dermatologist and get a full body check up once a year. You'll receive a full body scan and they will take notes and any pictures of moles to monitor them for the future. Last year I had a mole removed on my face that had changed and it happened to be melanoma. My dermatologist actually thinks it was more pregnancy hormone related then sun exposure.I didn't even know that could be a contributor!

As we get older we cannot reverse signs of aging, and I love the aging process! I am wanting people to look at this as a health issue, not a vanity issue. Also, eating lots of fruits and veggies and drinking 2-3 liters of water a day will do wonders for your skin!

I will be putting together a IGTV soon on the products in these lines that I use and love!

Xoxo
